THE ORATORY, BIRMINGHAM

Picture
A Roman Catholic, Oratory church, designed by E Doran Webb from 1903-1909. It is part of a group of three, inter-related Oratory buildings – the church, school and priests’ house. Cardinal John Henry Newman lived in the Oratory House and founded the community, he lived there up until his death in 1890.
In September 2010 Newman was beatified.

We carried out a quinquennial inspection of The Oratory and we were appointed to carry out repairs to the north side of the house, including the re-leading roofs. We have also completed improvement works to the library lantern and conservation works in Cardinal Newman’s Office.
