STRATFORD TOWN HALL
Stratford-upon-Avon’s Town Hall was built in 1767-68 in golden Cotswold limestone, by local mason Robert Newman. John Cheere’s lead statue of Shakespeare was presented by Shakespearean actor David Garrick c.1769 and is housed in a niche on the exterior. The building is listed grade II*.
Oliver Architecture were appointed as architects to the Town Council in 2020. We have assisted on a recent programme of internal redecoration and external repairs, including careful conservation of fine finishes as well as repair to the lead statue.
