NUFFIELD COLLEGE, OXFORD
Nuffield College was designed in 1939 by Austen Harrison but no work commenced before the outbreak of war. The College was erected in a series of phases from 1949 to 1960, its design being immediately criticized as being old-fashioned. Pevsner predicted that the tower would one day be admired, and indeed the College was listed (at grade II) in 1993.
In 2021, Oliver Architecture were appointed to carry out a condition survey of the stone slate roofs and other high level features, and produced a written report with recommendations on both the original Collyweston slopes and the more recently reroofed slopes in a Cotswold-type slate.
