MAGDALEN COLLEGE, OXFORD

Picture
Magdalen College was founded in 1458 by William Wayneflete, Bishop of Winchester and Lord Chancellor of England.  Building began in 1467, under William Orchard as master mason.  The result has been described by Pevsner as “the ideal college”.

Stephen Oliver first worked for the College in 1995 as a student on the new Squash Courts for Demetri Porphyrios, and we have recently completed a Feasibility Study on potential alterations here.  In 2019 we replaced the railings to the riverside terrace in new hand-forged steel. In 2021 we carried out a quinquennial inspection of the whole college.
