HIGHBURY HALL, BIRMINGHAM
The Highbury estate was home to Joseph Chamberlain and his family from 1879 to 1914. Member of Parliament for West Birmingham and former Mayor of the city, Chamberlain named the house after the London suburb where he grew up. Highbury Hall was built in the Venetian Gothic style, designed in 1878 by the Birmingham architect John Henry Chamberlain and built by John Barnsley & Sons, also of Birmingham.
Oliver Architecture were commissioned by Acivico to carry out a condition survey of the exterior of the Hall in 2017. This highlighted various areas of concern, for example to defective roof coverings and rainwater disposal goods. The report was used to secure funding for a subsequent programme of repairs.
