GREAT COMBERTON, WAR MEMORIAL
The war memorial at Great Comberton, Worcestershire is listed grade II, and dates from c.1920. It takes the form of a Latin cross of Portland stone on a Portland base, located at the northern entrance to the village. At some point in the recent past, a vehicle had damaged the memorial, and crud repairs carried out.
In 2022, a grant from the War Memorials Trust allowed the Parish Council to undertake a small programme of repair, undoing the previous work which had caused the shaft to fracture. A new Portland stone shaft was carved, with the cross apex reinstated on the top, with some careful mortar repairs.
