EPWORTH OLD RECTORY, LINCOLNSHIRE
Epworth Old Rectory is the childhood home of John Wesley (1703-1791), the founder of Methodism. The Grade I listed house dates from 1709, following a devastating fire, which was a significant factor in the upbringing of the young Wesley. It is a small museum describing the lives of the Wesleys and Methodism.
Stephen Oliver has cared for Epworth since 2010 and has prepared a masterplan for future development as well as carrying out external fabric repairs and the reopening of two 18th century fireplaces. We are current working on proposals for the conversion of outbuildings to provide improved visitor facilities.
