ST. PAUL'S CHURCH, JEWELLERY QUARTER, BIRMINGHAM
This grade I listed church is located at the heart of Birmingham’s celebrated Jewellery Quarter. It was built in 1777-79 by Roger Eykyn, matching his earlier work at St. John, Wolverhampton (where we are also working). It has a handsome Ionic tower and spire by Francis Goodwin of 1826-29. The church was badly damaged during the war but the splendid east window by Francis Eginton showing the life of St. Paul survived.
Stephen Oliver was appointed church architect in 2007. This iconic building in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter has a series of parapet gutters and much high level stonework in need of repair.
